Clay Gingerbread Houses – Handbuilding Workshop

A gingerbread house that lasts long after the holidays!

Forget the frosting and candy! Join us at The Artisan Shop & Studio for a festive pottery workshop where you'll build your very own gingerbread-inspired house entirely out of clay.

In this hands-on class, you'll learn beginner-friendly clay handbuilding techniques as you construct a charming ceramic gingerbread house from the ground up. Add your own creative touches with textured rooftops, whimsical windows, tiny doors, and decorative details that give your little house its own personality.

Whether you prefer a cozy Christmas cottage, a whimsical gingerbread bakery, or a charming winter hideaway, you'll create a one-of-a-kind holiday keepsake to bring out year after year.

What You'll Learn:
• Basic slab-building and clay construction techniques
• How to assemble walls, rooftops, and architectural details
• Techniques for adding texture, dimension, and decorative accents
• How to personalize your gingerbread house with your own creative touches

This is a two-part pottery experience!

Part 1 – Build Your Gingerbread House

During your scheduled class, our instructor will guide you through constructing and decorating your clay gingerbread house. Once complete, we'll carefully dry your creation and bisque fire it in our kiln.

Part 2 – Glaze Your Creation

After your house has been bisque fired, you'll return to the studio during normal business hours to add colorful ceramic glazes and bring your gingerbread house to life! We'll then glaze fire your piece, transforming it into a finished ceramic keepsake ready for holiday decorating.

Please allow approximately two weeks for your piece to dry and complete its first firing. Your finished house will be ready for pickup after the final glaze firing.

Due to limited class sizes and advance preparation, cancellations or requests for reschedule must be made online at least 7 days prior to the class to be honored. Reschedules and refunds are not available within 7 days.
