Truly Beginner Sewing: For the Very Beginner

If you’ve always wanted to learn how to sew but don’t know where to begin, this class is designed just for you! We’ll start at the very beginning and walk you through the fundamentals of your sewing machine, essential tools, and basic techniques so you can build confidence and feel comfortable creating on your own.

No experience required—just bring your machine and lots of questions!

What to Expect

• Learn the full anatomy of your sewing machine and what each part does.
• Practice threading, winding and inserting bobbins, and adjusting tension.
• Explore basic stitches and when to use them.
• Learn about sewing supplies, cutting tools, and essential notions.
• Hands-on practice to build control and confidence.

Supplies You Must Bring

• Your sewing machine (in good working order)
• Power cord and pedal
• Scrap fabric for practice
• Scissors
• Pins
• Machine needles
• Any sewing tools you already own
• LOTS of questions

Cancellation Policy

Due to limited class sizes and advance preparation, cancellations made online at least 7 days prior to the class receive a full refund.
Within 3 days of the class, please call the store to reschedule for a future class (availability pending).
No refunds for cancellations made less than 3 days prior to the class.
